(Late) New Year’s Resolutions

I know it’s very late for anything that involves new year’s resolution, but I must admit I feel excited on how things going this year.

There is some part of daily routine incidents happening, and it’s the main cause of lack of updates since November.

I’m not really struggling or anything. But if there’s few things that I’m desperate of, is time and better rig.

You probably heard this hundred times, but it’s really difficult to maintain a steady flow between web work, and 3D work on a single i3 machine.

But since last December, I’ve been trying to properly organized the structure of how I do things. I need to get the most out of my machine, while maintaining a good balance between web work and 3d stuff for you guys.

I hope this will work out. Fingers crossed.

January’s Premium, and where the hell is the December’s?

I know, I know. The December Premium Set is on final phase of rendering. I hope it’ll be done and released in the next couple of days.

Why is it slow? I’ve been trying new stuff while doing this, including fine tuning some of the character materials and finding balance for better environment scene.

The biggest hog from the December set is the use of IBL on lighting.

I don’t know if you noticed, but I’ve been trying to avoid using IBL on my sets so far. While the results are pretty good and quick, but simulating real life situation where the natural lights needed is a bit of tough challenge.

With IBL – when it’s baked long enough – the scenes produced very vibrant colors on skin and add better overall tones. The overall effect will be obvious, the scene becomes very much lively, and I think you’ll love that as well.

But those render times are killing us. Seriously.

So while it’s better quality wise, with my current machine, I’m gonna limit the IBL use for future sets, whenever possible.

And oh, January. I have a week left. Lets see if I can pull out some magic this time.

I saw you releasing pose product on Rotica, is that the actual reason of the delay?

No. Making pose set is one of my favorite things to do in Daz. It’s quick, and I can express my pervert nature freely. But in details, seriously no. The latest pose set I released on Rotica is just a conversion from the previous set.

People seem to liked my V6-M6 set, so I just decided to spent couple of days to make it compatibe for V7-M7. Heck, even it was done in December.

So what now?

Well, obviously, I would like apologize for the delay. And I would like to express my gratitude for your support. Without you, there will be no Max. Stay tune for the set release in the next few days!
